my oldest nieces (twins) graduate from high school on sunday evening.  i got approved to have monday off (travel day as it’s 7 hours away).  it’s friday night, at 10:40, and i’m thinking i won’t be able to go down for it.  plans are to leave at 7:00 a.m.

planning for a sub will take 2-3 hours.

my classroom is a mess.

report cards are due tues am.

so much other paper work is due soon, too.

if i go down there i’d take lots of work with me.  like two boxes of paperwork to organize/grade/record.

fuck.

the easiest thing to do would be to not go.  wouldn’t have to plan for a sub.  could get lots done this weekend without having to take boxes of work with me.

thanks to those for the likes and comments about the flowers/award post last night.  our before and after school program is run by the ymca.  every year they have a “strong kids” award ceremony.  i was super proud of two of my students receiving “strong kids” awards and i was one of three teacher’s honored as a “strong teacher.”  i was pretty touched :)

technically 4 school days and a work day, but i will be gone for one of those days, so 3 school days for me.

1. Do you have a tattoo? If yes, post a pic. If no, what would you consider getting?

  i do have a tattoo.  on my right hip.  it’s a daisy.  it was my mom’s favorite flower.  i got it my jr. year of college.  i asked my dad to put some money in my bank account for me….just didn’t tell him it was because i wanted to get a tattoo.  i’ll probably get another one at some point.  it wasn’t that painful.

2. If you could see any band/artist in concert, who would you choose?

not sure.  i like listening to music, but i’m horrible at knowing names of songs and/or the artists.  i saw pink and JT.  both terrific!

3. I’ve got two tickets to paradise. Where are we going?

bald head island.  no cars allowed.  you drive golf carts.  it is what i call paradise.  then i’d head to nyc.  and then seattle.

4. What or who is your spirit animal?

a sloth.  i feel like one lately

5. What do you love most about your job?

my dad’s house where i grew up.

4 older brothers (all married).  2 older sisters (1 is married).  12 nieces and nephews.  and me.

i was in a sorority and i absolutely loved it.  too many memories to name.  college football saturdays…..intramurals…..date parties….formals….other typical sorority stuff….
